Guest guest
I hope the appointment went well. I also have twin boys, both measured fairly similar (10 and 11mm), but we were only recommended to helmet one, because he had accompanying torticollis, so the physical therapist recommended it. I don't think our pediatrician would have recognized. However once Twin A was in the process it made us examine Twin B's head shape more closely. I honestly did not think Twin B's head was as bad, but his was worse. Anyhow.... I really felt like if we were going to correct one misshapen head, we should go with doing both, even if one was more severe. I think as parents of twins we worry about equality with kids (well, anyone with more than once child for that matter! lol). So we wanted them both to have their heads corrected. We've had a few family members joke about it how it is probably unnecessary, but its not their call to make. It really is similar to braces for teeth, many people do not think they are necessary, and in the beginning, few people used them. If you can fix it, why not? I think helmets will be more and more on the scene as time goes on. > > > > It's me again, the mother of the twin boys. > > > > Do any of you know if the head shape will still correct if the head is not growing much any more? For example, will the pop-out part of the head be pressed down a little even without head growing? It's just because my boys were born with the smallest heads in newborns and now they are above 95% percentile for the same aged babies. They are 14 months by 20th this month. I`m afraid that their heads won`t grow much any more. > > > > I am against all people around me to helmet my boys. My husband, the in-laws who live with us now to help out, my parents. Everyone... They are all saying natual is the best and it may cause other side effect if I put the boys into helmets. It's so hard for me. I feel like I'm fighting with everyone. I was always a happy person. Now I feel very depressed. My husband said the most he could take is to helmet our little one whose plagio is more serious. He won`t agree to put our big one into helmet since he`s only got 8mm. I tried so hard with the help of Mike Hall on this board to get the orthotist to agree to deal with my boys (The children hospital here has a strict rule of not dealing with children over 12 months). i really want both of my boys to be treated.. Sorry for complaining so much. > > >
