Guest guest
& -- Sorry for not getting back to you for so long. I don't think there is a question of loose ligaments. He always had a mild case -- was in the 10% that did not need the the achilles tendon release. Dr. H. did not try reducing the angle. We discussed it as an option, but I think he felt that the overcorrection was such that going out of them completely was the better option from a clinical standpoint. Max seems to be doing fine. He has an appointment in a week, so we'll know more at that time whether his flexibility is being compromised. Thanks for your response- t > > t, > I'm curious, did Dr. Herzenberg try reducing the angle of Max's shoes > (abduction) for a period to see how his feet reacted to the reduced > angle over time? Guest guest
One more tidbit -- my son was treated by Dr. H from day 10 on. We knew about the BCF at 18 weeks of pg, so I had lots 'o time to research (and agonize over) treatment. No other ortho docs touched him, so we started with a clean slate and were lucky to have a mild case as well. Sooo, that might explain the differing clinical approaches. Also, from what I understand of the doc banter, Max's flexion is very good indeed for a CF kid (or at least it was when Dr. H advised to discontinue the B & B -- ;-) . . . t mom to Max Bilateral CF > > > > t, > > I'm curious, did Dr. Herzenberg try reducing the angle of Max's > shoes > > (abduction) for a period to see how his feet reacted to the > reduced > > angle over time?
