Guest guest
Listed above are the groups to which we belong. We are the adoptive parents of two children, Joetta, age 9 whose 'normal' and who was born with his insides out, put back in and work okay although he has only a small intestine. We knew of this condition prior to his birth. What we did not 'bargain for' if you'll pardon the expression is his autism and Hypotonia with which we've been dealing since he was finally diagnosed properly around 3 years of age. He is on GF diet, not CF as yet and takes risperadol, paxil, prevacid and a vitamin cocktail in case his problem is mitrochondrial. Honestly, there are those who feel the immunizations are responsible, those who think it's diet related and those who think it's genetic. We have no idea which is the case and are willing to go to any extent to help fulfill his life appropriately and dread the day when it will be necessary for him to go to residential care. We are not young parents and have grown children as well. Sometimes, it's slightly more than a hassle--other times it's heavenly that he doesn't speak in view o his sister's mean, rotten nasty vocabulary especially in connection with him and her lack of acceptance. Suffice it to say, as we've said before, when it's good, it's great and when it's bad, it's horrid.
