Score one for parents today! My very handsome 10 and a half " toe-

boy " (pdd/nos, gfcf & corn free) chowed down a 1/4 of a box of

captain crunch week two of a new, less restrictive 8-1-1 BA class and

without parental consent but with knowledge that an infraction could

cause confussion and fustration with writing and iradict

tempertantrums. The school shuddered and when he told them he was

rolling on the floor because he ate cereal( after three weeks of

politiely saying I cant do the writing and being told do it, just

try) He was sent home three days in a row, the last time kicking two

staff. I argued with director(polietly but firmly disagreeing), and

when I arrived this am, the teacher blocked the door apologizing and

saying I'm sorry but I was told your son would not be returning to

the program, you need to go home. This would be the thrird time this

new york state school district did this. 6 years of school and

finally a completed behavior plan but not in place yet, a half

finished spch/lang and ot eval that notes he can write individual

letters but can't write his alphabet. I refused to go, they escorted

us to principals office, I said we'll stay as long as we need for you

to confirm that it is illegal to alter my sons IEP without a meeting

and he will be attending class today, he has arrived prepared to

work! The counsellor told my son yesterday -you must like how you

feel scince you keep eating foods you know make you feel this way.

Its only his second imfraction in 6 months. I told director, maybe

like millions of other american children, he just likes captain

crunch and this diet is really boring! Because he's high functioning

(thanks to diet)I think they are convinced that he is emotionally

disturbed (ED) not PDD. I stayed, one hour later the principal

escorted my son to class, apologized for confussion, thanked me my

for my patience and my son had a great day! At 5 pm, (after school

latch key program) I get a call from school- he's split his elbow

open and she has butterflied it! I celebrate! Yea he's hurt! Not

misbehaving!!!!!!!I speak to our regional rep almost daily!
