Guest guest
My son started spinning around, and he looks at his cards (flashcards:letters or numbers, his greatest interest), while he does that. He will twirl round and round and round; it gets me dizzy just looking at him, I don't know how does he do it! He will do it four or five times a day, or more. He started doing this a couple of days ago, and it has also been a week that he lost his very good eye contact (always been good during ABA therapy, now it is hard to have him look at us), and he is generally a lot more hyper and stimmy. We cannot get his cards away for a minute (the teacher reported that she takes them away and he does fine, but not at home!!!); he would bathe with them if he could! Suggestions anyone? The teacher told me yesterday, that she caught him licking the home made theraputty they play with (I have not been able to make him a gfcf one to send to school, so he plays with the one they have). I am not sure if he has gotten anything different at school while the teacher wans't looking. He shares drinks at school, so I sned in some M.M. OJ, but teacher said he had some juicy juice grape juice. Is that gfcf? I am worried now. He has been doing very good all thesae six ++ months of diet. Things seem to be falling apart since about a month now. We moved in this new house in July, and he did fine; when school started, I wasn't sure it was OK (different school too), but things keep going down instead of up! Even his in home ABA. He is progressing, and mastering his drills, but he is not as happy to work, and he seems always distracted and absent. What do I do? What is doing this to him? I stopped the SNT three days ago in the hope it was that (he has been on it almost six months). I started HNI enzymes almost five weeks ago, and melatonin six++ weeks ago. He is doing better in sleep, but can the enzymes have this kind of effect? He is not even answering to his name or trying to sit for a meal, or even complying to " come here " . Please anyone, I am going nuts here. IDEAS???? Cristina-WA Proud (but nuts) mom to 4.9 yo ASD, sarah & 2.1 yo NT twins.
Guest guest
Some ideas for you -- 1. Maybe he needs the vitamins from the SNT but not in the mega doses and/or not the P5P. You can try another of the Kirkman vitamin products with lower doses and see if that helps. 2. Perhaps he reacts to grapes/juice but not oranges/juice. 3. Perhaps it is a food you have re-introduced with enzymes. I don't think it would be the enzymes themselves because you say you have used them for several weeks. Have you tried challenging the gluten and/or casein and/or any other foods you know he did not tolerate before enzymes? Perhaps you can remove that again and see. My children still do not tolerate a few foods even with enzymes, so I had to add back one at a time and see if there were any effects. 4. What about that putty he is licking? What is in it? 5. Does your new house or the school have any molds or other similar issues? Well I hope that helps. Dana
