Gisella,

OMG I am so sorry... I didn't snip the digest when I replied. Y'all

can flog me now...

Hello and Welcome! There is one doctor who attended Dr. Ponseti's

Symposium in Sept. (I think this was when she was there...) and who

is currently treating a 6yo whose parent is on this list with casting

there in the Philippines. You may want to talk to her about your

child's treatment as well. I'd have to dig up some posts to find her

name... I am changing the subject line to get JM's mom, 's

attention so you and her can correspond.

As far as Docs in NY, can you tell us when you'll be here and for how

long? Will you be in the city? Would you be willing to travel to

Baltimore, MD? (Mapquest tells me it's 3 hours 16 min from NYC but

I'm sure it'll take a little longer due to tollways and traffic) Dr.

Herzenberg has experience treating older children and may be the best

choice on the East Coast for your child. There are doctors in NY who

have good reputations as Ponseti Doctors but I am not as familiar

with their successes with older children as I am with Dr. Herzenberg.

Can you tell us more about your child's treatment thus far? Does he

wear braces/splints of any kind? Were his feet ever able to

dorsiflex (point foot/toes up past " L " ) well which would be in the

5-15 degree range past " L " ? How is his brace set up and how long

does he wear it? Please tell us more about his treatment so we can

understand how to help you find the right doctor for his feet.

Also, please ask any questions you have, that's what we're here for :~}
