Guest guest
Hi all, I am probably worried about nothing, but I have a horrible feeling that my son is starting to relapse. Nothing obvious though. He has good sideways movement of his feet, but his ankles are extremely stiff, with no up and down movement. When he walks, it appears to me that most of his weight is on the outside of his foot, although his foot is really flat on the ground. My friend took a look at his feet, and said no, no, his feet are quite flat, but I still get the feeling that he is balancing on the outside. When he grips with his toes, they don't grip downwards, but inwards. I know there are many parents experienced in relapsing. Could you let me know what the signs are that I should look out for? Many thanks, and 6/24/04 bcf s 14/7 --------------------------------- New Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. Call regular phones from your PC and save big. Guest guest
... I just want you to know that this is exactly what looked like a few months ago. He was starting to " slightly " balance on the outside of his feet. Nothing that anyone else but myself ever noticed. He was pointing his toes inward. When I realized that this was happening, I took him up to Baltimore and we saw Dr. Herzenberg and he told us he was definately relapsing, but it wasn't too late. He is in casts now- 3 weeks down and one more to go. It is definately not an easy thing to have a 2 year old in 2 casts, but I am glad that we found it early enough and won't have to do surgery. If I were you, I would take him in just for a checkup at the ortho. It can't hurt. If he is relapsing, catch it early! Good luck, keep us posted. 2/9/04 BLCF in casts now for 1 more week Kearns wrote: Hi all, I am probably worried about nothing, but I have a horrible feeling that my son is starting to relapse. Guest guest
Well, we have not actually had a relapse but our ortho told us to watch primarily for loss of up and down movement of the foot. If that starts tightening back up, we are supposed to get her in ASAP. If you are concerned, I would go to the doctor. Guest guest
Hi , Well we all know that walking on the sides of the foot and a loss of dorsiflexion are the first signs of relapse. Even if no one else see's any sign of it....YOU do, I really think we mama's have eagle eyes when it comes to our kids! I would take him in asap, it may be nothing and hope it's not but if it is then you need to address it and the sooner the better so my advise is don't wait, even if just to give you peace of mind. & Grace 20mos urcf FAB 13hrs > > Hi all, > I am probably worried about nothing, but I have a horrible feeling that my son is starting to relapse.
