Guest guest
All, I just wanted to share an observation that confirms what others have noted also. Our 4 yr. old asd son, has been on the diet for over a year now. We have tried very hard to administer the diet strictly. Once, when had been on the diet for a few months, he got ahold of a Vanilla wafer at school. He only ate one bite, but his stools were loose and green for about two weeks. He also had nasty, foul smelling belches. This was kind of a guide for us. We knew if there was a slip up. However, last Sunday, he got ahold of a regular macaroni noodle. This should have been enough to send him over, but there has been no reaction at all. This corresponds exactly with what I've read about others' experience. Thanks to their sharing this information, we are not going to be tempted to take him off the diet. He may have experienced some healing of the intestinal lining, but that does not mean it's ok to reintroduce casein and gluten. On the contrary. It means the diet is working and we need to continue it to keep it working. Thanks to all those who went ahead of us and shared their experiences.
