Guest guest
Carole--the layoff may have been a favor--you can collect unemplyment while off for surgery--is thier any indication that they would call you back in 6-8weeks? Just a thought? They may have been in a bind with the economy the way it was--I think they did a stupid thing--laying you off before surgery--things could have improved by the time you were ready to come back, and then they wouldn't get socked with unemployment. I would go sign up for unemployment, and make them pay. You will have at least 6 weeks worth of down time w/ pay and u can get COBRA. This is good if u can afford to live on what ur unemploment will pay. Just check it out the unemployment office before agreeing to work as a temp. One thing is for sure temp work isnt going any where. This may be a blessing in disguise.
