Hi Dawn in Denver,

I'm Kathy, also in Denver. I just wrapped my son's mattress last Tuesday. I

left the vent underneath the mattress at the foot. My understanding is

unless there is a gas (formed from fungus or molds) it's okay. I feel alot

better though knowing he doesn't have any skin contact. I have a ceiling fan

running in his room to circulate the air. I feel this is sufficient in

keeping the air moving. I've also got flame retardant on my furniture, which

he used to sleep on every day for a nap-no more-bed only. There were 2

websites I found helpful in this process:

htpp://pnc.com.au/~cafmr/sprott/avoid.html and www.criblife2000.com. Read

those and hopefully it will clear up any questions. If you are concerned

about bedding there was a recent post about 100% natural, chemical, dye,

allergy free bedding. I just got back from Bed Bath & Beyond with two

pillows. Twice the price but what kind of price can you put on peace of

mind. They also have the mattress pads. Hope this helps-email me in you

need any more info.

Kathy
