My daughter has always had a problem with it. It comes and goes.

For months it just goes away and then boom it comes back. I know

there is something working her. Foods, allergies, both, I don't

know. It is disgusting and I am constantly on her about it. We have

tried everything to get her to stop. We even made her carry a towel

around for a spit rag so she wouldn't just spit on the floor or her

clothes. It worked for awhile now she just doesn't seem to care. I

am at my wits end this time around. I told her if she does not stop

that I was going to tie a baby bib around her neck and make her wear

it to school so everyone will know. She just says that she will

stop, she doesn't.

Have you tried fining her? I've used that (either money or toys or tv,

something that matters) for cursing. It worked.

My son who spit from habit would spit anywhere/everywhere. And he'd watch

it spittle down. So gross. Glad that's over.

My daughter, with the phlegm, won't quit spitting, but at least she is

doing it in the toilet or outside.
