Foot-ankle brace

Hello!

I wrote a while back saying my son had surgery. Well we are very concerned

about where our doctor is leading us now and arre going to Dr. H in Baltimore

for a second opinion and I am very nervous.

I have been doing my homework.

Z was born with rcf. Looking into it I would say it is atypical. I looked at

pictures and I would swear they were of Zander's foot. They say the regular

shoes/bracing do not help. Our doc said he will only need to wear the straight

last shoes during the day (why?) and the DBB at night (why?). These were the red

flags that led us in another direction.

So from reading the Clubfoot Management Guide by Dr. Ponseti I see that the

treatment for atypical clubfoot is the foot-ankle brace. Is this the same as the

MItchells? I printed everything off and am adding more and more questions to my

list for our doc on Thursday.

My son is scheduled to come out of his post-op cast and into the shoes and

brace, but after reading this, my anxiety level has skyrocketed to a new level.

I am glad we made the decision to go see Dr. H. But what happens between ths

Thursday and the 12th of May when we go>???????

HELP!

Any suggestions and thoughts are welcome. We can't take back the surgery, but

we can go another direction from here.
