This is to Amy, who said:

Hi all-

Well, I've been really down lately because my weight loss seems to

have ground to a halt.

I am 4 3/4 months out- surgery on July 6th 2001. I started out at

326 with a BMI of 47-ish. For the past month or so I have been

bouncing around between 237 and 245. The lowest I've gotten is 235

but it didn't stick. All in all I've lost about 3 lbs this month as

at the end of last month I was bouncing around between 240 and 245.

===================================================

I have been there, too. On several occasions, I hung up just like that for

weeks. A month isn't all that out of the ordinary.

I have lost 260 pounds....I'm 16 months post op. I had a tummy tuck, too,

which is what accounted for the last 30 - 35 pounds.

I don't know ANYONE (me included) who has had this who didn't presume that

they had stopped well short of their goal and decided that it just hadn't

worked for them....or not as well as you had hoped. My wife is going through

that right now....she just went through a 3-week plateau where she actually

gained a few pounds. She has started losing again, and is down about 5

pounds in the last two weeks.

Don't despair...you're not eating too much. Lord knows I eat that much and

have for a while, and still lost weight. Stay away from the sugar and sweets

and you'll be fine.
