Guest guest
Janice, The FAB will set off the metal detector... Just be prepared for them to pull you to the side and " wand " you and Ethan. It's far less of a hassle than taking the FAB off and trying to get it back on (when it is so new to you nonetheless!) with people everywhere. We flew with Jonah when he was in the FAB full-time and warned the security folks before-hand that it would make the alarm go off. They didn't make a big deal out of it; asked a couple of questions. One fellow said that his father had been born with a clubfoot and he was surprised to hear that it was treatable nowadays (!!?!!!). I'm glad to hear that everything has gone so smoothly. Dr Colburn's a gem, isn't he? Can't wait to see pictures of those perfect little feet! Since I'm going to be flying...does anyone know if we need to take off the brace at the security checkpoing at the airport? As it is they gave me the hardest time with the casts, I can't imagine they would give me any grief about the brace. Thanks in Advance! Guest guest
Good luck tomorrow - it is exciting when they get the casts off but you are smart to mentally prepare for some issues with the brace. Hopefully your little guy will adjust quickly I have flown with in his bar several times and never had to remove it for security. I think it is a lot easier to get wanded than to take it off and put it back on, especially in the beginning! I've only had them ask me to remove it once and I told them I am not supposed to, then they wanded us and sent us on our way. Other than that they have just wanded us each time. Guest guest
Congratulations! We have flown with the brace and have not been asked to take it off in security. But I was prepared to refuse if they asked! Good luck. > > I'm really excited about tomorrow. His casts are coming off and the > is going on.
