Guest guest
My oldest son who will be 10 next month loved to spin when he was younger. He would often look to one side while spinning and continue until he was too dizzy. He then would stumble around after. My autistic son spins but does not seem to get dizzy after. I think that is the big difference. The other clue to watch for is the why. Does he seem to do it for fun, in anger or to escape. My autistic does what we call mad soumersalts. Whenever he doesn't get his way, he soumersalts across the room. Quite funny looking. > Since Jane PDD-NOS was my firstborn, I am wondering if it is " normal " > for a toddler to turn in circles. just started this a few > weeks ago. Guest guest
, Yes, he had vacc until 6 mos and then at 12 mos the varicella. I was in a hurry and panicky and shouldn't have posted that when I didn't have time to clarify. It has been one of those days! I am gearing up to stay awake with my son allllll night in the hopes he drifts off for his EEG tomorrow. I am soooo not a night person. Do you think I can snooze on the couch and put Mt Dew in his bottle? Just kidding. It does sound tempting, though. LOL Janelle
Guest guest
> Since Jane PDD-NOS was my firstborn, I am wondering if it is " normal " > for a toddler to turn in circles. All my kids do this. It is fun. The " autistic spin " is different than the " NT spin " , altho I am not sure I can describe it in writing, but I sure can show it to you LOL For my son, the " autistic spin " also includes the eyes turned to the side, and spinning continually all day. He does get dizzy, falls down, laughs, then gets up and does it again over and over. He would continue this all day before the diet. Now he " runs in circles " , occasionally spins, but he stops after a few minutes when he is REALLY dizzy. For me, it is spin vs " running in circles " . Does he " spin " or " run in circles " ? And for how long each occurrence and each day? And do his eyes go to the corners and stay there? just started this a few > weeks ago.
