Guest guest
, I gotta ask this, because I've done it myself. But, if you put his foot into the shoe and fold the rubber under his foot on the side where the sore is... does it match that little spot where the sore is? If it does, you probably did what I've done more than once and that rubber went under his foot one night and neither of you noticed. If this is the case, it will take some time to heal. I did this about 4 months ago myself and Darbi still has a red mark. If it's really bad, try the duoderm. Put it on and leave it on till it falls off. Expensive I hear (we got ours from Shriners so I had no idea...) but good stuff. I have to really be careful not to do this because sometimes those shoes go on and I'm in automatic mode and don't notice. I think... after this last time I gave her a rubbin there that I have folded the rubber under at least 3 more times. Of course, I catch it now but I know for sure one time I had them all buckled up before I saw what I'd done. If this isn't the case, do you mind showing us what the sore looks like so we can figure out how to fix it? At CFPics, if you're a member would be perfect. Guest guest
Sounds like a similar mark which had on the outside of her foot when she started the s. I padded it with gauze between her sock and the shoe for about a month and then stopped the padding and have no problems since then. I think it will go away and is just a part of adjusting to the shoes. Carol and , 10-27-05, bcf, s 18/7 Red Marks with s Aleksander has had his s for about 2 weeks now and he is having a few problems with new red marks. The ones he had from the Markells (on top of his foot) are completely gone, but now he has one new one that is irritating me (not him, me). It is bright red, and on the outside of his left foot, towards the bottom. It isn't the shape of anything from the shoe, I've tried putting the tounge of the shoe in varying positions, and none of it helps. I've also put a bandaid on over the mark and that doesn't help (doesn't hurt anything either). I know what the other marks are from, and have been able to correct the problems, but this one is stumping me. Has anyone else had a problem with this? The mark isn't that big, maybe a quarter inch. It is in a sort of sliver moon shape. I'm quite sure it isn't from his day time shoes either...since he has it worse in the morning than it is at night, and when he's indoors he is barefoot. Any ideas would be great! Aleksander, 11/34/04, bcf
Guest guest
>> " It is in a sort of sliver moon shape " Hi , I thought your description of the red mark was interesting. I've been struggling with a similar mark on my son's foot for about a month now. It's a slive moon shape on the outside of his foot near the bottom. My son's looked more like a blister and I deduced that the s were not causing the mark. RAther, it is from his tennis shoes that he wears. The mark occurs right at the point where the edge of the insole of his shoe meets his foot. I found that it was rubbing against his foot. Now I put a band-aid on it whenever he wears those shoes. And I let him go barefoot most of the time that he has a break from the s. His tennis shoes are Stride Rites. I thought I'd respond just on the off chance this is similar for you. I just thought it an interesting coincidence that the sores seem to be similar. (my son) has been wearing the s for a little under 2 months. Guest guest
I proababy could have. I had him wearing the 's for a week, then the red mark showed up so I put him in the Markell's for a few nights. He got the old red mark back so he's been in the 's since. I do really like them, even though they are a PITA to get on. I do have to say, the red mark looked much better today. I'll take a picture of it tonight, if he'll sit still for 30 seconds. I am a member of CFPics, so I can post it. Thanks for the hint! I'll be more mindful of the rubber on the sides. I'm hoping that was it because it would make sense. > >Aleksander has had his s for about 2 weeks now and he is > >having a few problems with new red marks. > > > >The ones he had from the Markells (on top of his foot) are completely > >gone, but now he has one new one that is irritating me (not him, > >me). Guest guest
Aleksander is barefoot most of the time too, unless he's outside or in public. Daycare keeps him barefoot too. His feet just get so hot in his tennis shoes (which are from Target). I got him some sandles recently, but they were causing other problems on the top of his feet. Bummer because they were really cute! I'll take a look at his tennis shoes tonight to see if there is anything in there that may be causing it. I don't think so though. He has been wearing the tennis shoes longer than the s. It is so nice to get all of these ideas of places to check! I had exhausted all of my ideas, so everything here is really helpful! > > > > Aleksander has had his s for about 2 weeks now and he is > > having a few problems with new red marks. > > > > The ones he had from the Markells (on top of his foot) are > completely > > gone, but now he has one new one that is irritating me (not him, > > me).
