Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I am just beside myself. I am 12 weeks post op and weigh in only once a week. This week I gained 1.6 lbs. This may not seem like a lot but to me it is. I think of myself as a hard loser. By this I mean I really have to work to lose the weight. I started at 297 then in the first 3 weeks I lost 33 lbs. Than It got hard only 4 lbs in 6 weeks. Than I did something stupid I only ate 400 cals a day and that week I lost 8.5 lbs. Than I came to my senses and started eating healthy. Protein, protein, protein. Since surgery i have been mostly eating protein. I hardly have carbs only very smal amounts. I drink only cal free drinks, like Crystal light , water and Diet Soda. I don't even drink milk!!!! I don't have any sugar and I walk. Thats a lot for me since before surgery I did " nothing " . I can't blame the gain on my period, since surgery I have been having one 3 times a month!!! I sometimes think that I have too many cals, but my nutritionist said I was ok. Even if I had 2000 cals a day I should still lose the weight. ( I don't, by the way). The most cals I have had was on sat. Our family had Thanksgiving early and I over estimated the cals and still was under 1500. I can't help feeling very upset and depressed. Why did I go through all the pain and effects of surgery? Why can some people eat what they want do no exersise and still lose huge amounts of weight and I gain even afer Dieting? I know some of you may yell at me its only 1.6 lbs and say you have lost 53 lbs look on the bright side. My question is if eating 1200 cals a day, getting exersise and still gaining weight at 12 weeks post op what will happen eating 2500 cals 1 year post op? Will I gain it all back? Will I forever be on a diet? At this moment in time I feel like it will happen!!!!!!! Jody 8/30/01 age 28 BPD/DS Dr. Pomp Mt. Guest guest
I think weekly weigh ins are about 4 times too often. Weigh monthly and rid yourself of your angst. If you lose nothing in a month, then complain. A week is too little time to indicate a problem. /Seattle --- In duodenalswitch@y..., " None of your Bee's wax! " , > > I am just beside myself.
