Guest guest
, you need a new sole plate. Call the orthotists and have them order you a new bar, which will come with sole plates. Good time to kick up in bar size if it's needed anyway. Guest guest
This is a new sole plate. We had problems with the bar being stripped and got a new sole plate about a month ago. Perhaps the sole plate is defective. > >Rory kicks his feet a lot which causes the nut on his Markell's to > >loosen slightly and the bolt spins around. Guest guest
Wow! You are not having much luck with these sole plates... I have never heard of this happening before. Jonah has stripped the threads on the nut and stripped the teeth on the bar and my husband has snapped the bolt in 2...but Rory has come up with a new one. I'm not sure if you can fix this. The bolt is riveted onto the soleplate. You could try taking the plate off the shoes and seeing if it's the rivet that is coming loose. If so, you can tap on it with a small hammer until it is secure again. Otherwise, the only thing I know of is to get new sole plates. Sigh. This isn't very helpful, sorry. Do you know whether your orthotics shop is machining these parts themselves or getting them from Markell? Have you looked into switching to the adjustable red bar? The set-up is a little different and I think it is more secure. Please let us know how things work out. Guest guest
The plumbers tape is a good idea. I will try it. Naomi-Our orthotics co orders straight from Markell. I am going to call them too, since Markell has a 90 day warranty, maybe we can get a new pair of sole plates. Thanks for the words of encouragment! > > We use plumbers tap.
