Guest guest
i went with my sis-in-love to see shallow hal this weekend. i wasn't sure if i even wanted to see it, but she had already seen it once, and thought i would like it. i found it interesting from the perspective of someone who was MO 7 months ago, and now am no longer MO, just overweight. i am still sorting out my thoughts on the movie, but as someone else mentioned in an earlier post, some things like the pool scene were a bit over-exaggerated (ok, extremely over- exaggerated), but others were not that far off the mark. i did think it really shows how shallow much of our society is in that so much emphasis is placed on looks, weight, etc that the rest is lost in the melee. had we been around many years ago, we would have been considered " rubinesque " and had our portraits painted. there were a number of places in the movie i almost fell out of my chair laughing, and other places where i sobbed. more to follow... ~amy c~ dr k/april 13, '01 -120 pounds
