OT - the Elle/Ellen/Ellyn thing

I'm an Eleanor (named after the First Lady, my mothers hero), but I was 50

before I felt old enough to carry the name Eleanor

around. I went from Ellen, Ellyn, Elin and finally Elle in the mid sixties...

A few years ago (ok-almost 9 years ago) for my 050th birthday, I changed all my

ID to Eleanor, hd new business cards printed up

and introduced myself at work, to new customers, as Eleanor.

It didn't work...elle I was and elle I stayed.

I like the name, in all its versions but wish I'd be able to get the dignity

that comes with being an Eleanor. Maybe if I quit

wearing jeans and t-shirts that would help
