Hey everyone,

Josiah is having a test on Monday for delayed gastric emptying as he

has been having lots of episodes of vomitting after a bolus feed

through his NG tube....he has thrown up his tube 2x's in the last 9

days which requires a trip to the hospital to insert a new one. I am

giving him 4 oz at a time 3 times a day, plus an overnight feed. So

the GI told me to decrease the amount of the bolus to see if that

helps (he is also having troubles with reflus and is on Raninidine

sp?)....so we are having a test done Monday for the delayed emptying

but they told me nothing to eat or drink after midnight and his test

is at 8 am.....have any of you had experience with this and how did

you handle it?? The doctor is concerned about the hypo-g but said

that he has to be empty for correct results and she said to get up in

the night and check him to see if he is sweating and to give him a

bit of juice if he is. Any advice is helpful as this is getting so

crazy right now. Next week we see a surgeon to book an appointment

for a G-tube insertion, we see the endo for the first time since

initial diagnosis, we have this test and we see the nutritionist and

his home care nurse......AAAHHHHH how will I ever make it through

this week.

Thanks in advance for your help,

R.
