other bars.

I agree --- Don't exclude other natural forms of protein -- like cottage

cheese, yogurt, cheeses, tunafish, soft meatballs, milk and soy milk/soy

products... I know some people have adverse reactions to dairy post-op (I

stuck with Lactaid skim milk and did fine), but it isn't a *given*!

I ate a lot of dairy in the first three weeks (before I could really eat many

meats) but I also had to supplement with shakes and bars. It may take awhile

to find one that 'sits well' or that you like.... I know that Curan

has samples available on her vitaforlife website page... I really liked the

Schiff Pharamacies Women's Natural Replacement Vanilla. I got it at GNC. It

has a very milk flavor (I mixed it with milk) with an ever-so-slight- hint of

cranberry... It has soy protein, too! I figured that would be less harsh on

my new tummy than whey initially ..

Congrats on the weight loss, and continuing health! You know, I did

post some of my recent post-op food journals on the list before... I still

can't find my early food journals (they have to be somewhere) -- but for

those who are interested in some sample menus (I got about 75 gms/day the

first three weeks post-op), try a search under my screenname or with the

keyword protein or something.... Still looking and will post some entries

from the journal when I finally locate it!

all the best,
