What exactly do you mean by a " hair patch " ? Lucas has one at the top

of his spine- but he was born very hairy! Dr Ponseti looked him over

very well (spine included) and said he was fine, so just curious.

post. NOW I AM REALLY CONCERNED! Lilee has a good hair patch on her

lower back where her spine meets her butt. We have always thought it

was kinda cute, but it has been a curiosity to me always. I myself

have minor scoliosis. So hereditary, she may have it. Do any other

kids here have scoliosis also along with CF? How did you know? Do

they have the hair patch? I have always thought her CF leg was

longer than the other. This may explain that? I am going to call her

ped. Dr. tomorrow and set up an appt. Any feedback GREATLY

appreciated! Q: Are there any signs that parents might look

for? A: There may be signs such as a rib hump or a small " bump " on

the back. There may be foot problems, such as a clubfoot, which

could be a tip off. Quite commonly, one will find a hair patch

somewhere along the spine. If you notice any of these signs, take

your child to a scoliosis specialist immediately. Reprinted

Both my husband and I are not hairy people. it takes him a month to grow

somewhat of a mustache...lol...Neither any relatives on either side of the

family. She too is not hairy, except right above her butt crack. There is a dark

patch (she has strawberry blond hair), about Lt. brown hair there. Probably 1 "

across by 2 1/2 " tall. No Sacral dimples, just Sacral hair patch. The hair is

fairly long for an infant. I cant brade it or anything...lol...I think Kori has

seen it.

Hairy patches can be nothing, but it is worth looking into. My sister's little

girl had a hairy patch they would watch, but since she was walking at 9 months

and everything looked good, they didn't do anything else about it.
