Guest guest
Janelle - It's funny you mentioned being unMartha . This weekend my 2 older NT children were talking about why Martha can do so much and we struggle. I asked them if they have ever seen kids on her show or ever seen her in a kitchen our size. The rest of the afternoon we were talking about what if Martha made a cooking show in our house and had to take care of our kids. This show would have to be unedited of course. They discussed how when she would set aside something she would have to put the pan on the floor because we have no (yes, I mean literally no) counter space. She would have to go to the grocery twice for forgotten items (which means getting all 4 kids ready). On one of the trips to the grocery she would go to write the check and her checkbook is not in her purse. When she gets home she would find it under the couch where the 2 year old shoved it. Of course during the middle of cooking she had to stop to change an extremely stinky diaper and as a result burned the food. She never got more than 3 sentences out until the next scream or complaint came. She would not have the perfect tool for the job but would instead take twice the amount of time because she had to use an old dull knife. The entire kitchen would have to be cleaned several times because one of the kids would knock over food. There would be no helpers there to precut or measure food and put in all those neat little glass bowls (wouldn't it be nice to cook all your meals by just dumping in precut & measured food). I thought some of you might enjoy the insight of my older (ages 8 & 9) kids. It sure makes me feel better when I struggle in the kitchen. > , > I forgot about the bagels.
