Guest guest
Do *not* run out of your pain meds and cold turkey. This is not appropriate or healthy. Tapering off is best. Ask for a refill. I took hydrocodone or oxycodone for a good 3 weeks and occasionally for a month. However, you are taking a high dose of acetaminopen (Tylenol) with the Vicoden. Ask your prescriber for the medication without the acetaminophen. I took a tylenol and if the pain was not reduced I'd take an oxycodone later. You are stressing your liver with high amounts of acetaminophen. You are wise to notice your pleasure in the rush of the medication and recognize that is an indication of potential problems. People in pain move around too little and often do not recover as rapidly as those who use pain medications carefully and appropriately. > Hi Everyone, > > At 18 days post-op I am doing a bit better. Guest guest
Nick, If you can avoid Celebrex, Vioxx, Mobic or any of those other wonderful NSAID's...please remember, as well as they work, a lot of us are finding out that the cure was worse than the pain. They have ruined my stomach...(hoping to lose that part! grins) Do try seeing a chiropractor that is trusted in your community, as I bet during this rapid weight loss, he or she can offer you some great relief!
