I thought this information might be helpful to others since the subject has

come up recently. I called the McNeal company today to ask about Motrin.

The customer service rep said that although McNeal does not add gluten

containing ingredients to their products, they do subcontract for

ingredients. After ingredients are changed, they test the batches for gluten

before adding it to their gluten free list. Children's motrin is currently

being tested and can't be added to the list yet. He did however say that they

are in the process of developing some new formulas that he couldn't go into

that would be of interest to people with sensitivities. When I asked about

children's products that were on the gf list, he said these were

OK-Children's Tylenol grape suspension liquid, Children's Tylenol cold and

cough chewable tablets, Infants Cherry concentrated drops and Sesame Street

Vitamin's and minerals. He said that these were also tested to be free of

galactose, and that no dairy was used to make them. He also went on to say

that formulas do change frequently but that what is out there now should be

OK. I guess this is where the gamble lies, but based on this information I'm

going to stock up on these products for the winter, and just call back to

check again when we use them up. He is also mailing a gluten free list of

their products and coupons. Hopefully this will help with making some

decisions about what to give your children. Helene
