Guest guest
Just a quick Hi, Shane is doing well, in mainstream 2nd grade with an aide. And ONCE again, we are trying Round 4 Infringement test (why? I'm a glutton for punishment I have decided) For you newbies, my son does WONDERFULLY on the diet, he is focused, attentive, " with us " ...BUT biggest problem, HE IS OFTEN depressed. Something a 7 year old should not be. We went to open house last week, and on his " all about me " page, under " Things I love " he drew Pizza, Oreos, and Yogurt. It was very sad. (And yes, we have made ALL of the mock ones, doesn't cut it) I can't say he wants them for the high...It's definitely the taste he is missing. (He does not gorge himself like he used to) NOTICEABLE changes since Infringements- He is maniacally laughing once again (uncontrollable crazy laughter), he has become slightly more aggressive, but controllable. He has become whiny, BUT he is very happy once again. (I'm sure it's that high as a kite happiness) We are giving him enzymes with his infringements (Pepcid x 2 daily, and CoQ10), and we are going to keep the testing going a little longer. I am praying his body gets used to the food once again...BUT as the other times, my hopes are diminished, and I assume he will be 100% GFCF once again. Atleast he had a little bit of happiness. I just can't decided whether it's better to have him functioning NT, or happy. I guess there is a happy medium, and if you saw what I have been baking GFCF pretzels, cookies (including Oreos) Rice pasta, Pizza with soy cheese...SO frustrating. BUT thought I'd give you an update, he is still verbal, and doing great in all of his academics..I'll keep you posted- Shari who truly believes the diet is helpful, but wishes it wasn't neccesary
