Guest guest
An update of where we have got to with Alyssa and 's plagiocephally. We decided not to band as although she has a CVA of 7mm her head looks nearly perfect and the flattening is really very minimal and she has no asymmetry to the face or ears. We are instead doing cranial sacral therapy for her with a chiropractor. My daughter Alyssa has just graduated from her Hanger helmet with some good improvement - although we have decided to get her a STARband to try to get some additional correction. She was originally 15mm CVA at about 7 months and is now down to 2-3 mm CVA according to Hanger (or 8mm CVA according to the STARband scan) at 11 months. She still has some slight forehead bossing, ear asymmetry and other issues with the overall shape. We are also doing cranial sacral therapy with Alyssa. She got the new STARband helmet on Dec 29th but unfortunately we have had some rubbing at the back so we are hoping to get in to see the orthotist again on Monday. We are getting the STARband from CIRS in Palo Alto - thanks for the recommendation!!
