I have heard not to use any lotions. My son has fine baby hair too and a dry flakey spot, I have had to use dandruff shampoo periodically to control the flakiness there and that has worked. She will probably sweat alot so maybe she won't get dry, maybe you could see how she does with out the lotion.

Hi all!My daughter is 7 months and just started the starband yesterday. She only has super short hair still (that soft baby head fuzz), and we have always put small amount of a very mild lotion on her head after washing. Can we continue to do this while she wears the band. I'm afraid if we don't, the scalp will get dry and flakey. Thanks for your help!

We were told not to put any lotions on E's head--after a while, being contained and sweaty should negate out "getting dry", lol.
