Guest guest
It's always a crap shoot but most of the time I do believe it ends up being OK if they miss a few days. I don't go around recommending parents leave the shoes off, but Everett (my 2nd born) was out of his quite a bit due to sores early on and he ended up just fine with no problems as a restult of it. As you hold the baby just remember to work his feet, keep them limber and stretched out. " Just " pressure sores though - oiy! Pressure sores are the worst, be really careful with those! s Re: kicking out of shoes - Update got new shoes today. He went from a size 00 to a size 1 so I guess it was time for a new pair. They told me to leave him out of them for 24-48 hours so the sores could heal. This is after they told me yesterday to take them off until his appointment today. So this means 2-3 days out of the shoes - he is a happy boy but it is worrying me. Is it ok for him to be out of them for 3-4 days? He's been in them just over 3 months, but his follow up with the ped ortho isn't until May 31, so his hours are still 23/7. I am so afraid of him being out of them, but I don't want the sores to become open sores. Anything I can do to help these areas heal faster? I think it's just pressure sores, they are purple and red with no open areas. Thanks, Kaci (mom to , 12/17/05, bcf, 23/7)
