Hello everyone! We had our follow up with Dr. Ponseti on Friday. Lucas

is doing great- Dr. P said his right foot looks really good- better

than the left. He seemed really surprised since this is the foot that

had surgery. I was too- I've been expecting it to be much worse. His

left one has a strong muscle that keeps pulling it a little to the

inside but he said that would stretch out once he started walking. He

walked a little for him while holding onto my fingers and Dr. Ponseti

said he was going to walk any day now!! I'm so excited and nervous at

the same time. I hold my breath every time he trys to stand on his own.

Our next appt isn't until Jan. He said at first 6 mos, but my husband

will deploy in Sept for 4 mos. So, Dr. Ponseti was discussing the

deployment with my husband and finally turned to me and said, " It's

too far for you to have to drive by yourself. You can come back when

he returns. " So, there you have it, chivalry is still alive. He said

all he would do is look at his foot just like this time and he's very

happy with what we've been doing.

He told me before to cut back to 16-18 hrs, but it was so much easier

at daycare to have him in for 19, so he was 19 there and then 16 at

home on the weekends. Dr. P has cut him back to 16 there as well.

I made a comment there about the tornado and that I called last week

to make sure the hospital was still there. I also said a few of you

who were there posted on this group so we'd all know if he and

everyone else was okay. Jan (I think?) said she was pretty sure that

if a tornado hit his house this whole group would be there in a heart

beat to build him a knew one. Everyone chuckled-but it's true!

Now I need to go back and read all the other messages. I've already

read the essay and cried.... I've been MIA for so long!
