Modified from Pampered Chef's Season's Best Recipe Collection Fall/Winter

1998

It's a holiday on ice! These icy treats are fun for the whole family anytime

of the year.

1/2 cup candy canes or peppermint candies, chopped

2 TBSP sugar

1/2 cup boiling water

3 cups Darifree

Frozen whipped topping, thawed (optional)

Candy canes (optional)

Chop candies using a food chopper; place candy pieces and sugar in a 2 qt

bowl (nice if it pours easily). Add boiling water and whisk until candy

pieces are completely dissolved. Whisk in Darifree. Divide mixture evenly

among 3 Ice Shaver Tubs; freeze until firm. Remove frozen mixture from tubs;

shave using Ice Shaver. Garnish each serving with whipped topping. Chop

additional candies; sprinkle over each serving, if desired.

Yield: 8 servings

If you don't have an ice shaver, try your homemade ice cream maker.

This made a great dessert for the kids.
