Guest guest
Jodi, I didn't see the part about hiatal hernias. That is interesting, because has one of these. They saw it in an upper GI (this is not what they were looking for), and it is quite large. In March, he had a pH probe & an endoscopy to see if he was refluxing. This is the only reason they said they would repair the hernia. His tests did not show reflux, but he did have 2 small duodenal ulcers. I did see ulcers mentioned in at least one of the websites I gave you. So, 's hiatal hernia was not repaired, but he is on Nexium for the ulcers. makes a weird sound when he breathes sometimes that is not coming from his lungs. It is very hard to explain. It is loud, and sounds like liquid moving in an out of his stomach (kind of like when you shake liquid in a jug). I never knew why he did this, and it didn't seem to bother him, so we never pursued it. After I found out about the hernia, I asked if this was what was causing it. The doctor didn't seem to think so, and wasn't concerned about the sounds I spoke about. However, since this is such an odd thing, I wonder if it is stemming from the same things causing Max's hiccups. 's having oral surgery tomorrow morning. We have to leave for the hospital at 4:45 AM - UGH! I'm also lucky enough to get to stay up until midnight, so I can turn 's feeding off - yea for me! Kim C.
