Breakfast bars/Flour Tortillas

To all those who wanted to know about the GFCF breakfast-type bars ... I

ordered the " fig bars " from Govinda's Bliss Bars company

(www.govinda-foods.com) or 1-. I haven't got them yet. I

expect to have them sometime this week. I'll let you know how they taste

and look (a critical test to pass!). They have a ton of flavors, but

unfortunately no regular ones like strawberry or blueberry. Just stuff like

" Heavenly Hazel " or " Pumpkin Pleasure. " Since my son sort of liked Fig

Newtons before we went GFCF, I thought I'd give this a try.

I also ordered the cinnamon/raisin bagels from Kinninnicks in Canada. I'm

praying my son will like them, because my personal attempt (#3) at making a

decent bagel was a disaster.

On the other hand, I made a great flour tortilla on Friday using the recipe

in Miss Roebson's Summer 2001 catalogue! Only I didn't have the tortilla

press, so I just rolled them and put them on a hot, ungreased skillet. It

says you are supposed to be able to make 10-12 tortillas, but it only made 6

for me. So, I probably did something wrong. But my son loved them and they

were easy to freeze and reheat (I wrapped it in a paper towel and put it in

the microwave for 20 seconds). Next time, I'll probably double the recipe.
