Hi all,

We didn't get the best news from Dr. H at the convention. Bottom line -

isn't

growing despite being on a maximal dose of GH. His IGF-1 levels & A1c levels

are high,

indicative of being at risk for Type 2 Diabetes. He has an extreme case of

insulin resistance.

Dr. H wants to start on Metformin, an insulin sensitizer (she spoke

about these in

one of her presentations). She thinks this may also help him to grow better.

We just saw

's local endo today & he is against using Metformin on a pediatric

patient who does

not yet have Type 2 Diabetes. I did get him to call her & discuss this, but I

don't think he is

convinced. If anyone has a child on Metformin (Glucophage), I would greatly

appreciate you

contacting me privately at capuano_k@...

Thanks,

Kim C.
