Guest guest
Hello, We saw an orthopedic and he prescribed brace inserts for nas shoes. One is thicker than the other to balance her leg and foot difference. Ask her doctor and see what they think. The best thing is walking bare foot right now to help with sensory is what we were told when she was trying to walk but that didn't even start until she was around 17 months. Walking alone came around 2. Hope this helps Marcy nas mom 4yrs 29lb 36in olcay ergun wrote: Hi All, Berra's legs have different length. One is 2 cm (0,8') shorter than the other. What can we do about that? ýs there any treatment for this situation. How about her walking? Should we use q special baby shoes like one is longer than the other in order to fix the difference on her legs? Thanks Olcay Onkel to Berra age 13mos 14lbs Olcay ERGUN, M.Sc. Guest guest
Olcay, You can have lifts made to fit on the shoe to make up for the leg length difference. Usually that is done with sneakers, but I guess you could use any kind of shoe. It is usually placed underneath, like making the sole of the shoe thicker for the shorter leg. If Berra has low muscletone, then you may want to consider orthotics to help support the legs while walking. You would have to go to an orthopedist to get that, at least here in the US. My sister-in-law used to live in Istanbul, so if you need to know about doctors, I can ask her. When I have asked her in the past, however, for an endocrinologist or anyone to help another RSS child in Turkey, she said that there are no good doctors to go to for that. I hope you are having better luck. Jodi Z
