Guest guest
Today, saw ENT specialist Dr. Kim, at University Hospital in Syracuse. Dr. Kim changed his ear drops to Floxin and he returns in a month to see Dr. again. (Left ear tube is out and right is in place, but wet.) Then saw endocrinologist Dr. Mackowiak who wants to keep him on the vitamin cocktail as a result of the subtle but positive changes we've seen in since he's been on it. (This would not be a good time to take him off what with the upcoming seasonal changes and the stressors involved therein for .) In a few months, we may try him off it to see if there's a difference. More blood tests and urine test were ordered as well to measure mitrochondrial stuff (how his body absorbs and uses food). Down the road, we're looking at chromosonal testing of some sort just to see where the damage occurred and if anything can be done or at least an explanation of his condition which Dr. Mackowiak does not see as 'autism' but something else. (Whatever.) behaved exceptionally well all day and even behaved (during the lunch hour) for an x-ray to measure bone age/growth while in Syracuse. We anticipate that you should receive a report from both doctors as they've received a letter indicating you as one of the team!! {As an aside, recently learned Dr. Togut is retiring in November!! We will miss her fine service but know she'll feel we're in good hands with your care.} Shirley & Ted Semesky Parents to , Age 8 PDD/Autism/Hypotonia+? and Joetta, Princess/Devil in Disguise Elmira, New York
