Deb,

I think since you're going to be there, I would definitely try to

get it looked at! Good luck and please keep us posted!

purple means pressure sore. It will break down, the skin will come

off and the sore will surface. Gotta get the pressure off that

spot. Something is not good inside and with her having SB she may

not be able to tell you if it hurts. But it probably does (would) if

it's purple. Purple is not good at all, little red is ok, as long as

it doesn't get redder but purple means the skin has been bruised

badly by pressure.

If the heels are cut out, there has to be some spot that is pressing

and either that needs to be cut out too or something else done to

brace her. Have you considered the Ponseti shoes? They are

nice and soft, rarely if ever cause sores and IMO the best choice out

there for FAB bracing. If the AFO's are causing problems, it sounds

like the time is NOW to get her good shoes and when you talk to Dr.

Dobbs you could say that you want it no matter what because you want

these problems to end. I am certain that you will love it like

everyone else does hehe...

Hope to hear good news soon, and please watch that purple spot. If

the sore comes up, she'll have to go back to casts again cuz these do

not heal in the shoes/AFO's well at all.
