Guest guest
, I am so sorry that you had to endure the ignorance of your neighbors. I don't know whether it's right or wrong, but in my case I let everyone know that my son is ASD, I can't stand the looks or raised eyebrows or muttering without saying anything. I think the more people that I can inform about autism and related disorders the greater the awareness is and the greater the awareness is, the less fear and prejudice. I know of one woman who carries business cards that briefly explain that her son is autistic and the 800 number of our local autism society for more information. If she gets a look she hands out a card, most people are embarrased by their own behavior. By the way I'm pretty new to this site and I love it. You are all pioneers in a world that you never expected to be in and your spunk, humor and knowledge is inspiring.Have a great weekend. :-) PS What does NT, DH, and all those other initials stand for? > > The talk about neighbors made me wonder if those of you who > homeschool let > > your neighbors know this.
