Hello again,

Just thought I'd share some good news and ask a question about some not-so-good

news.

We had our endocrine appointment with Dr Brain yesterday and the results back

from her pituitary scan blood tests were all normal range (except IGF1 and IGF3

were on the low side) this gets rid of our main worry that there was a problem

with Madz' pituitary gland due to the cleft palate. Are the IGF results typical

for RSS?

So I left GOS hospital feeling pretty high (she is 11lbs and 56.5cm) - only to

get back to an ansamachine message to say her hip xray looks odd and she needs

to see the osteo consultant. That makes 6 teams of doctors she is seeing!

Anyway, she was born breech and so was potentially prone to hip dislocation so

had 2 ultrasound checks in the first 3 months that showed initially immaturity

of the hip joint and then a normal range result. However at the developmental

assessment the Dr said her bum (butt!) creases were not symmetrical so she

should have an Xray (9 months). The xray shows there is some cause for concern

that the ball & socket joint is not growing in the correct way and she may need

a cast (I haven't had the osteo appt yet so don't know much else). I am v

depressed as I am back working part time & things were going so well.

Is there any chance the xray showed up anything RSS related that might be less

serious? eg bone age/asymmetry?

Thanks for your help.

Gillian
