Hi everyone,

It's been awhile, I have tried to keep up with the posts but its

been tough. I'm about 2 days behind now. I am still having trouble

with nausea and vomiting, it takes up my whole day. Its been 4 weeks

since surgery. I didn't have the nausea or vomiting while in the

hospital but have had ever since I came home. I have tried different

meds and all of the great suggestions and was able to keep in some

liquids in for a few days thanks to all of you and your great

suggestions. Well I am in need of some more great suggestions, I

went to the doctors and sure enough dehydrated with kidney

infection. Had IV and antibiotic at doctors office. About 4 days ago

I started having right quadrant pain, labs came back not great but ok

as far as kidney function so the doctor wants me to have a CT Scan

tomarrow which involves drinking barium(yippee) How am I going to

keep that down when I can't keep anything else down. I have tried

compazine and phenergan neither worked and my ins. denied me for

zofrin so I don't know what I am suppose to do. They say I have to

drink 8 oz of barium tonight and 8 oz 2 hours before scan. Any

suggestions and has anyone else had an abdominal ct post-op and how

much barium did you have to drink? It seems to reason that since the

route from stomach to large intestines has been decreased I shouldn't

need as much. The pain has greatly increased in the last 24 hours.

I called radiology but they haven't a clue and said I have to drink

it and keep it down.

This is the hard part of having surgery away from home. I am going

to try to contact my surgeon first thing in the morning to see what

they have to say about all this and since it was after hours when my

PCP called I couldn't contact there office today. I do have a number

for after hours but I don't know if I should use it for this or

not. Any suggestions, please email me ASAP. I know that someday

all of this will be behind me and I'll be feeling good and looking

good because of all I have gone through.

Happy Holidays

B
