Guest guest
Joyce, Congratulations on your baby boy! What is his name? Typically, the casts are removed in one of two ways. They're either removed with a cast saw or the baby is soaked in warm water (with vinegar in it) to soften up the plaster, and then they cut it off with a scissors/knife very carefully. Have you been taking pictures of his feet and the casts? You're right that the foot abduction brace is used by many doctors even if they're not using the Ponseti method. I can't think of any measuring that is done during treatment. The doctor should be examining the foot though and noting the progress. Best wishes, & (3-16-00, lcf) > > Hi all, > My son was born on April 14 with one club foot. Guest guest
Thanks for the response, . My son's name is Dylan and he's doing pretty well with the cast. Maybe it's harder for me at this point :-(. I meant to bring a camera to the hospital to take a picture after the first cast was removed but forgot it. The dr looked at his foot and said it looked very good so I'm hopeful it means that we won't need as many casts. Joyce > > > > Hi all, > > My son was born on April 14 with one club foot.
