Guest guest
Hi all, My son was born on April 14 with one club foot. Fortunately we knew beforehand and I was able to seek out the one dr in The Netherlands that performs the Ponseti Method fully. He's already on his second cast and I've been pretty happy with the dr so far. When they took the cast off, however, he got scratched up pretty good (and screamed plenty loud) in the area where the cast was tightest :-(. Is that normal? They took the cast off with a pliers kind of thing and then pried it off. We were able to give him a bath in the maternity ward of the hospital where the casting is being done. Do they do any kind of measuring during the casting normally? So far, the dr felt that the first casting went really well. The brace is the foot abduction brace and there's someone that goes around the hospitals in the area distributing braces. That sounds odd to me but I suppose the braces are the same for the various methods? Joyce
