Guest guest
Your doctor is on to something here. Try contacting the folks at www.celiaccenter.org (Center for Celiac Research, U of Md School of Med) with your questions. Their researchers believe that celiac is a " born-with " genetic predisposition, but that it is triggered at some point in life, possibly for some form of immune trauma, viral infection, etc. They are currently trialing a DNA blood test that would show the celiac genetic component. Then the person would go gf to prevent triggering the active - damaging - phase of celiac disease. > Hi!
