Is he overweight by any chance? Just wondering if he is jealous. Anyway, that sounds illegal what he is doing. I'd check with the Dept of Labor. Hell, if the guy would lay you off before you lost you insurance, he would be required by LAW to give you insurance thru COBRA. Call your local labor Dept office or local unemployment office and ask them about this. If you have disability insurance, be sure to keep that also. Good Luck. I will pray that it all works out for you. I know what you mean about trying to schedule to help out work - I did the same thing, scheduling for Dec, which is our slow time, gave one month's notice and then got laid off. My company was small, BUT if you work for a company of over 50 people and you have been there at least a YEAR, he MUST give you time off by law. This guy sounds like he is doing illegal things. Have you talked to HR dept about this? OR how about the company OWNER? Cause the owner just might not be too happy that this guy is jeopardizing his company. I'd do whatever it takes to get this guy to stop his childish BS. Carole
