Guest guest
Hi, I have a question about the mobility of my son's feet. is now 20 months old, and has been walking for about 3 months. He has caught up pretty well on his gross motor skills, and can now run around fairly well. His balance has improved greatly. The problem I find though, is that when he walks, he looks like a baby who has only just learned to walk. When I was moving his feet the other day, I noticed that he is quite unable to move his foot downwards (like pointing his toes..). The dorsiflexion usually checked by the doc (pushing his foot upwards) is fine, but it is the other direction that is very stiff. I think that this is what is making his walk more of a waddle. (Just imagine trying to walk without moving your ankles...) Has anyone else had this sort of a problem? Should I contact my doctor about it, or is this something that just improves with time? Perhaps I should send pics to Dr. Ponseti? Any help on this topic would be appreciated. I always feel like I'm fussing over nothing!! Thanks, and 6/24/04 bcf s 18/7 __________________________________________________
