Guest guest
Thank you all for your prayers, thoughts, healing energy, animal swingin' on behalf of Jeannie. She was in renal failure last night on a respirator with a 50% chance of making it through. This morning, it appears that the one time of dialysis may have helped kickstart the kidneys as there was some urine output and they're hopeful that the kidneys may begin functioning. Her blood pressure is stable, white cell count and temperature is down. She may even get to be taken off the respirator Monday or Tuesday. There is SUCH power in our collective energies and I thank God, Dr. Welker and all of you for helping to pull Jeannie through this. I appreciate your continued support and am looking positive into the future of our WLS sister. For those of you who are pre-op, know that this is a rare occurrence, but obviously one that can happen. Jeannie was a high-risk surgery and had several co-morbs, among them being uncontrolled diabetes for 30 years. But, she is a trooper and her odds of survival have gone from 20% (at the time of the 2nd surgery) to 50% after the second surgery and are even better now that the kidneys appear to be beginning to function again. She is a trooper and a very dear friend -- I think with her strength, with Dr. Welker's skill and compassion and with the support of all of us sending thoughts, prayers and healing energy -- that she will pull through this. I pray that it is meant to be.
