Guest guest
I'm generalizing, of course, but I do think that in general we need to stop beating up on ourselves about this thing. Realize that we have crossed a threshold into a disease process that is very difficult if not impossible to reverse. The DS puts us into remission. :-) Absolutely. I couldn't agree more. What I have done to myself is just that...beating up on myself and not understanding and accepting that obesity is a disease. It has taken me a long time to get to this place and realize that, for me, surgery is my final option. Making the decision to have the surgery holds me accountable for taking the steps necessary to deal with obesity as a 'disease' and not as a character flaw for which I beat up on myself over and over again. This is a good point to bring out, . Blessings, Fran
