I AM SCREAMING

Jodi wanted to scream a few days ago, I am screaming!! I can't take this crap

anymore.

Some of you know I am having issues with Adam's teacher this year. But I just

spent 45 minutes in " discussion " with this man and I am screaming mad. I can't

take any of this anymore, I am at the end of my rope.

We won't even bother going into the man's philosophy of " just stop coddling Adam

" (read follow his IEP) " and just MAKE HIM BE LIKE THE OTHERS and he will be " NO

accommodations no NOTHING.

Adam is on the moon he is so frustrated.

Today's problem??He is not allowing Adam to eat. I wrote a letter yesterday

saying he HAS to eat. So what does he do?? Without discussing it with me, he

went to the principal, she says have him eat in another class. AND THEN HE COMES

AND COMPLAINS THAT ADAM WAS GONE FOR AN HOUR.

Well dah!!! Why the * & * & * can't he eat in the classroom like he has since grade

1 (and now he's in grade 8)??? Yeh, Adam used this to get out of class. Sure,

he's not STUPID. He is going to take advantage of this and get out of class.

He's a kid, kids DO THAT. But you can't have it all your way Mr. Teacher.

OH I am livid. Now he says to me " make a schedule that says when he can eat and

he can only eat for 1-2 minutes "

OH FOR PETE " S SAKE!! Try explaining " lack of hunger signs " ; it's a physiological

problem that he was BORN with, try explaining that he eats SLOW, though most

RSS kids have delayed gastric emptying and this and that and UGH He doesn't care

because I am AN OVERPROTECTIVE mother who doesn't know what is best. I am

coddling the boy and he is going to get him INTO SHAPE.

By law the IEP has to be followed, but he is choosing not to. Now he has

involved the PRINCIPAL which opens the door for me. They will be getting a

letter from me first thing next week and it will say what Adam's needs are. My

problem is this teacher and I are in the same union so I can not go and

" complain " to the principal without involving the union....but now I can

certainly outline a " regime " for Adam and CC it to the principal since HE

involved her. I am so mad. I can't even tell you guys. I just can't even

function right now. This is getting to be too much for me. I can't continue this

battle anymore, it's constant, it never stops, it never ends, it's always

something that I am having to fight the system and it's just me doing it (his

father, interestingly enough, is of the same believe of this teacher: Adam just

needs to SMARTEN UP and his RSS will go away).

OK I gotta go calm down. Thanks for listening to my rant. I really can't deal

with this anymore, I just can't.
