Guest guest
Hey, You may remember me. A couple of months ago, I had posted that I had a 12 month old that I was concerned about. His 8 yr old brother is autistic. Everyone encouraged me to have him evaluated. Well, finally we have had some evals and the impression right now is that he does have an expressive speech delay, but his cognition and receptive speech seem to be age appropriate, but need to be monitored to make sure no lag appears. So, he will start with our state early intervention program with speech therapy. But, as soon as I became concerned two months ago, I immediately put him on the gfcf diet. This was challenging, as toddlers this age LOVE crackers, cheerios, etc. However, I was able to find one of the Gerber graduates that was gfcf, the Turkey stew (with veggies and rice), so he eats this for either lunch or dinner every day. I really feel that the diet has made a difference for him. So, here is my next question. Luckily, I had always had him on the soy formula prophylactically, but now it is time to stop the formula. AND, I am considering eliminating soy from my 8 yr old's diet and the baby's. So, CAN I USE VANCE'S DAIRY FREE MILK AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR HIS FORMULA, since he is 14 months old?? Much like most moms just give their toddler whole cow's milk?? I figured I could squirt some vitamins in there. He still likes a bottle before nap and at bedtime. I could just put it in his bottle. I don't see any other alternative, other than no " milk " at all- off the bottle cold turkey. Trina
